Dear President / Secretary General:

China Swimming Association is going to host the Lancang River Asian Open Water Swimming Invitational Tournament in Xi Shuang Ban Na, China from 10-11 April, 2008.

We are honored to invite your country to participate in this tournament. Below you will find the detailed information in relation to this event:

1.Date: 10 to 11 April, 2008

2.Venue & Distance: The competition will be held in the Lancang River, Jing Hong City, Xishuangbanna State, Yunnan of China. The distance is approximately 600 meters

3.Eligibility: This event is open to all AASF swimming clubs and individuals.

4.Event:

1)Invitational tournament (A float counts approximately about 600 meters by 45 angles. Group A, B, C & D (men & women).)

5.Entries

1)There is no limit to the number of participants at different age groups.

2)Age Categories(20-59 years old): (All age group swimmers remain qualified from the 1st of January to the midnight of the following 31st December in the year of the competition) Group A: age 20-29; Group B: age 30-39; Group C: age 40-49; Group D: age 50-59;

3)All athletes are allowed to compete in only one age group.

4)All participants are required to present the identification documents (e.g. passport, ID card) to the OC.

5)Each participant needs to pay one hundred (CNY 100) Chinese Yuan as the participation fee to the organizing committee of the event.

6.Competition Rules

1)Certain part of the latest FINA Open Water swimming rules shall be applied

2)Water conditions: the competition will be conducted in natural water and the conditions are as follows: depth: 4.8 meter; current speed: 1.3m/s; surface water temperature: 22℃; under water temperature: 18℃; altitude: 530m; air temperature: 38℃

7.Ranks and awards

The first 6 positions of each age group shall be awarded.

2)2nd RMB¥2400

3)3rd RMB¥2000

4)4th RMB¥1200

5)5th RMB¥1000

6)6th RMB¥800

7)7th RMB¥600

7)8th RMB¥400

8.Financial conditions:

1)China swimming association will be responsible for the cost of accommodation and local transportation for five (5) persons (three swimmers and two team officials) from each federation from 10 -12 of April (4 days and 3 nights). The cost for extra persons will be US$ 60 one person each day.

2)The organizing committee has designated several hotels of different level as the official hotels of this tournament, with the rate of Chinese RMB 200, 150 & 100 per person each day. The detailed information concerning the hotel shall be delivered to you upon your request.

9.Entry

1)First entry: the preliminary entry forms of each participating team shall be returned to China Swimming Association before 12 March, 2008.

2)Final entry: the final entry forms shall be returned to China Swimming Association by 22 March, 2008.
